Magna Carta World Heritage launches a National Campaign to donate the Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Edition to schools in Great Britain
LONDON, July 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Magna Carta World Heritage LLC announced today its campaign to donate the Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Edition to schools in Great Britain as part of its Magna Carta –My Heritage campaign. This campaign follows the successful "America celebrates the Magna Carta" launched in the US five months ago.
"Students will have the opportunity to see and study it in their schools before the 800th Anniversary. As the foundation of the rule of law, it is Britain's greatest gift to the world, and the most celebrated document on both sides of the Atlantic," stated Laura Mann Kevehazi, CEO.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, insists that every child should be taught about the Magna Carta. "I want to use this anniversary as an opportunity for every child to learn about the Magna Carta. The remaining copies of that charter may have faded, but its principles shine as brightly as ever, and they paved the way for the democracy, the equality, the respect and the laws that make Britain Britain." The Sunday Times 15th July, 2014.
The Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Edition is a fine art print of the authentic Magna Carta document including the original 1215 Latin text and the Coats of Arms of the 25 Barons that were appointed to enforce it.
