CleanMyMac Mist, the first physical product from the makers of CleanMyMac app, is a perfumed cleaner for your laptop formulated in accordance with Apple's device-care guidelines.

The limited edition pairs technology care with fragrance in a Frosted Juniper scent.

Why a software company made a perfume

For 18 years, CleanMyMac has looked after what happens inside the computer. Mist brings that same attention to its surface, turning the decidedly functional act of wiping a screen or keyboard into something more considered: an analog ritual for one of the most-used objects in modern life. And, deliberately, it smells and looks like perfume — a perfume for your technology, that is.

"Scent has been moving off the body and onto the objects people own," said Yulia Chuzha, Head of Product Brand Marketing at MacPaw. "Lifestyle reporters made the point that the hand soap on your sink now says as much about you as your handbag. The Mac is the object many of us touch more than anything else we own, and no one has made a scent for it. Juniper grows where both the Mac and MacPaw were born

Frosted Juniper smells like clarity: cool and mineral, with a hint of juniper, and it sits as a perfume. Camphor, ozone and citrus open it; juniper, red berries and pine are at its heart; eucalyptus, fir needle, cedar leaf and green apple sit underneath. The Mist is made in a Ukrainian product design lab, formulated in accordance with Apple's device care guidelines, and cleans your laptop with care. That care part matters a lot: in the MacPaw survey of 780 US Mac owners, one in three said they had damaged their Mac trying to clean it.
