LONDON, September 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) is delighted to announce that Liquid Friday Ltd, the umbrella and payroll services provider, has been accepted as a full member of the Association, becoming the latest of a number of companies to have been accepted as members.
In order to be accepted as an FCSA member, Liquid Friday was subjected to the FCSA code of conduct; a rigorous review of process established by the Association following extensive liaison with HMRC. The code is designed to be the most robust and comprehensive in existence. It involves a comprehensive review of an applicant's business services, operations, policies and processes by means of an extensive questionnaire and onsite assessment reviewed by Ernst and Young.
The code is designed to demonstrate to Government, agencies and end users, as well as to freelancers and contractors looking for a service provider, that a company is financially stable, provides high quality professional services and is operated to the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Compliance with the Code is independently verified and validated by Ernst and Young, with documentation deposited with HMRC at the end of the accreditation process.
Philip Venn, Managing Director of Liquid Friday Ltd said:
"I'm absolutely delighted that Liquid Friday has been accepted as a member of the FCSA - an organisation which represents the 'crème da la crème' of contractor services companies. With the industry under ever increasing scrutiny, there has never been a better time to be part of an organisation dedicated to maintaining high standards and inspiring improvement elsewhere in the temporary and contract recruitment supply chain".
Stuart Davis, Chairman of the FCSA said:
"It is great news that Liquid Friday has been able to meet the extremely high standards required to gain membership of the FCSA - I'm delighted to welcome them to the association. Liquid Friday is an important player in the industry, and their becoming members of the FCSA brings us closer to our aim of ensuring the entire industry adheres to the strict standards of excellence set by the FCSA code.
At the FCSA, we take great pride in the quality of our membership, the independent nature of our code, our representation of the flexible workforce with Government, and the excellent professional services our members provide to tens of thousands of contractors across a range of sectors in the UK. FCSA membership is the badge of honour every freelancer and contractor should look for when choosing a professional services company to advise them. Only then can they be sure that they will receive a reliable, responsible and robust service."
Notes to Editors:
About the FCSA:
- The Association was established in 2008, in response to a stream of proposed regulation which revealed a lack of understanding from Government as to how the flexible labour market operates
- That year, FCSA (then SPA) successfully engaged in the HM Treasury consultation process on the issue of subsistence and travel expenses tax relief for freelance workers employed by umbrella companies.
- Association members offer professional services to tens of thousands of contractors across a range of sectors including IT, healthcare, oil and gas, energy and finance.
