Lhasa Limited Announces the Acquisition of Granary Wharf House
LEEDS, England, January 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Leeds-based not-for-profit and educational charity Lhasa Limited acquires new headquarters
Lhasa Limited, a leading global supplier of knowledge-based software and associated databases for use in toxicity, metabolism and the related sciences, today announces the purchase of Granary Wharf House, Leeds, as its new international Headquarters. This investment provides the space necessary to ensure that Lhasa continues to meet its members' needs and its charitable purpose for the foreseeable future.
Lhasa Limited was incorporated as a charity with only one employee more than 30 years ago and was initially based in the chemistry department at the University of Leeds serving a small number of primarily UK-based chemical companies. Since then Lhasa has grown to a truly international member-based organisation with over 250 members with operations in the UK, Poland and the USA. Throughout this growth Lhasa has remained true to its founding principle of Shared Knowledge, Shared Progress.
In 2005 Lhasa Limited moved to its current headquarters in Blenheim Terrace, Leeds and since then, through the growing success of its world leading in silico prediction systems and its investment in research, Lhasa has more than doubled its work force.
Granary Wharf House is situated in Granary Wharf, Leeds, an established business location that has benefitted from significant investment in recent years. Just a stone's throw from Leeds train station and the city centre the move will enhance Lhasa's links to the international community whilst retaining its strong academic relationship with the University of Leeds. Lhasa intends to start operations from Granary Wharf on Monday the 1st of March 2014.
Lhasa Limited's CEO said, "Lhasa's remarkable growth is testament to the commitment of its scientific staff and our drive to provide value to its members and through this, benefit to the public. Our investment in Granary Wharf House will ensure that Lhasa continues to meet its member needs and charitable purpose for the next 30 years and beyond."
