Over the last few years hospital inpatient volumes have declined by 5%. During this period ambulatory care revenues have increased by 21%. This trend is indicative of the shifting of care provision away from hospitals. In order to stay competitive in this environment, hospitals need to adopt unique strategies that require greater collaboration with other care providers. There is no "one size fits all" approach that can be adopted across the board. It is imperative that hospitals first identify local population requirements and map them to care provision goals. This is critical in developing strategies for providing low cost, high quality care to patients while ensuring revenue growth.

"The shift from volume to value based payments, declining inpatient volumes and rise of ambulatory care providers have required hospitals to innovate collaborative models of care delivery that allow them to remain competitive while leveraging collaborations with other care providers."
This Webcast assesses different strategies adopted by hospitals to efficiently manage transition of care provision. Key strategies include smart collaborations with different ambulatory care providers, and adoption of data integration solutions to better create standards of care protocols. Other approaches involve the launch of in-house insurance plans to increase both revenues and patient volumes, as well as adoption of integrated care delivery models like Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). More hospitals will seek to become part of a full spectrum integrated care ACOs in order to remain competitive. This Webcast will look at some of the factors contributing to this shift as well as assess the impact of ACOs in the future.
