Leading Indian and Japanese B–Schools Collaborate
HYDERABAD, India, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
- Indian School of Business and GLOBIS Sign MoU
- Senior Industry Executives in Japan and India to get Access to World Class Education
The Indian School of Business (ISB), an internationally-renowned B-school, and GLOBIS CORPORATION (Tokyo, Japan, President: Yoshito Hori), the executive training arm of Japan's fastest growing business school based in Japan, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide world-class executive education to senior industry executives in Japan and India. The MoU was signed by Ramanathan Hariharan, Senior Director, Centre for Executive Education, ISB and Toru Takahashi, Managing Director, GLOBIS Corporate Education, earlier this month.
The collaboration brings together the Centre for Executive Education (CEE) at ISB, one of the largest executive education providers in Asia and GLOBIS, the largest and fastest-growing business school in Japan, to provide programmes specifically for senior management executives. They have been designed to help executives fast track their careers and lead businesses and people in an increasingly global world.
Making the announcement, Ramanathan Hariharan, Senior Director, Centre for Executive Education, ISB, said, "The ISB's association with GLOBIS is in line with our mission to cater to the leadership needs of emerging markets by bringing in global best management practices. Japan is one of the fastest evolving Asian economies necessitating the need for a leadership pipeline to fuel its growth. We envision ISB playing a role of a catalyst that will influence and nurture business leaders in Japan, who in turn will lead its growth in the years to come. Our focus on co-developing executive education programmes with Asian perspective will be of help to Indian business leaders as well who seek to manage strategic business challenges at a pan-Asia level."
ISB's strategic alliance with GLOBIS further fortifies its international footprint and reinforces its position as a thought-leader in the field of management education. Earlier last year, CEE at ISB expanded its presence to Pakistan, Oman and Sri Lanka.
Expressing his happiness, Toru Takahashi, Managing Director, GLOBIS Corporate Education said, "The collaboration between ISB and GLOBIS is a great step towards accelerating our commitment to developing many more visionary leaders globally. This collaboration will meet the recent strong needs we are seeing with our Japanese clients to nurture leaders with a solid understanding of the realities of global issues, especially in the emerging markets, and who can also tackle such issues practically with a strong global mindset. I am also thrilled to be creating and developing new executive programmes from an Asian perspective as a joint effort of both the schools, which, I believe, will make a very positive contribution for the growth of the global economy and local societies in the new paradigm."
What does the MoU entail?
The course offerings will include 'Open Programmes' or short-duration programmes that are driven by research, workshops, seminars and 'Custom-Designed Programmes' or specialized courses, devised to cater to specific needs of individuals, employees of various organisations in the public and private sector and Government departments in Japan. To begin with, the proposed programmes would focus on business leadership, strategy and related domains. Later, both schools may also explore the possibility of collaboration in the areas of research, case study creation, and faculty development.
