China's pesticide industry maintains a good growth rate this year, thanks to the increase of pesticide export. As for insecticides, data from China Customs reveals the export volume recorded an 18.19% year on year growth in the first three quarters of 2013. Besides, the structure of China's pesticides export showed some changes. For the past years, China's pesticide producers have mainly exported pesticide technical worldwide.
However, the growth of formulation export this year is much higher than the export of technical. This can be seen from some product's export situation monitored by the authors. In the first tree quarters of 2013, China's export volume of lambda-cyhalothrin technical was 1,833 tonnes, up by 28.90% year on year, while China's export volume of lambda-cyhalothrin formulations hit 9,412 tonnes, up by 119.79% year on year.
As for domestic market, NATESC estimated that domestic demand for insecticides will decline by 1.21% year on year to 120,300 tonnes (calculated by 100% technical, similarly hereinafter). As demand for organophosphorus insecticides, it will see a clear decrease of 3.95% year on year to about 82,700 tonnes.
