Today the YBIKE Evolve, the world's first 3-in-1 smart bike for kids, launches on crowd-funding site Kickstarter. Starting at $50 for early backers, the new Evolve trike-bike "evolves" as your child's riding ability progresses.

The Evolve begins as a trike to develop peddling skills, before transforming into a balance trike, and then finally into an advanced balance bike - all with a simple and easy mechanism. The Evolve's 3-in-1 function is based on a forward-thinking design that helps develop balance and co-ordination in children, whilst also saving you money and space.
Many children form relationships with their bikes and learn to trust them, and are wary of new ones. The Evolve bike was designed to leverage that trust. Jaco Kruger, Co-founder of Chrome Cherry Design Studios and MD of YBIKE, explains: "No parent wants to restrict their child's development but as parents, our team knows how expensive and time-consuming it is to keep buying a new bike every time your child grows out of the old one. This is the fun and unique bike that grows up with your child. It's like a transformers trike-bike for children."
The Evolve means that children learn how to balance instinctively at the same time as having fun. The adjustable seat accommodates the growth of your child from the age of 2 upwards to 5 without the use of training wheels, which can teach habits that later need to be unlearnt again. It can be easily transformed by adjusting the back wheels in a few minutes, without the need for specialized tools or technical know-how.
