NEW YORK, October 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Further supporting its position as European market leader, global PR firm Ketchum announced Paul Cohen has relocated to its Brussels office. The move strengthens the firm's international corporate and institutional affairs offering, in addition to bolstering the senior leadership team in the growing Brussels office. Cohen, a partner in the firm, who most recently served as group manager for Ketchum's corporate and international affairs team in New York, will assume the role of Director, International Corporate & Institutional Affairs.
Cohen has deep experience supporting many of Ketchum's Global Corporate Practice's largest client engagements. His understanding of geopolitical trends and the resulting impact for businesses has contributed to him becoming a trusted adviser to some of the agency's most high-profile global clients. In his new role, Paul will advise clients on building and protecting strong and sustainable market positions across political, economic and social environments. He also will be responsible for helping to grow Ketchum's international corporate and institutional affairs offering.
Describing the move, Cohen said: "I've worked for two decades on three continents across multinational teams and I've spent ten years with Ketchum. This move sees me join a great team within Europe's largest and best agency network. I've built my career on cross-border, high-profile, high-stakes work, using every communications tool we have to help our clients accomplish their goals. I'm confident that I can bring these learnings to the challenges and opportunities facing our European clients."
Peter Otten, Managing Director of Ketchum's Brussels office, said: "Brussels is a critical market for Ketchum because it serves as a key international hub and European public policy is established at our doorstep. Since I joined Ketchum in 2011, the Brussels office has steadily grown with important hires like Auke Haagsma, our Head of EU Public Affairs, who spent 27 years at the European Commission and Hilde Ransschaert, our Head of Strategic Integration, who spent 20 years in various leading advertising agencies. We're a strong and ambitious unit, and we're delighted a powerful heavyweight like Paul is joining us to help us continue that momentum."
Explaining the motivation behind Cohen's move, David Gallagher, Ketchum senior partner and European CEO, said: "Moving someone of Paul's experience halfway around the world signals how serious we are about international corporate and institutional work and the client demand we're seeing in this area. We see great growth potential within the Brussels market and for the role that this office can play as a hub within the region. Adding expertise like Paul's is an important step forward."
