Jeff Nelson Named Chair Of The American-Lithuanian Business Council
WASHINGTON, April 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 7, 2017, the American-Lithuania Business Council announced the appointment of Jeff Nelson, Vice President at Strategic Staffing Solutions, as chair of the board of directors.
The American-Lithuanian Business Council is a Washington, DC based non-profit organization that promotes commercial relations between the United States and Lithuania. The mission of the Council is to enhance American-Lithuanian trade and investment, advance the American-Lithuanian bilateral relationship, and educate the public about its importance.
As the leading business association in the United States focused on Lithuania, the Council ensures that American executives and key Lithuania and US Government decision makers have a forum to advocate for further trade and investment opportunities in Lithuania and amicably resolve issues that might prevent future growth. ALBC has been a leading proponent of reforms to labor laws, which were approved by the Lithuanian government this year that will encourage more job creation and investment by employers.
Nelson, who has served as honorary consul for Lithuania in Virginia since 2014, has a legacy of raising the profile of Lithuania globally and helping promote new foreign investment. In addition to co-leading numerous business delegations, Nelson worked in Lithuania from 2006 to 2008 and has managed start-up projects for several leading shared service centers there. Strategic Staffing Solutions has hired more than 5,000 people in Lithuania to work in the country for its U.S. and U.K based clients.
S3 was among the first American companies to invest in rebuilding Lithuania's democracy and economic climate after the fall of communism in 1999.
