iVolt, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of voltage optimisation equipment, has teamed up with Drayson Racing Technologies to help take October's Energy Solutions 2012 up a gear.
With what promises to be one of the highlights of the show, iVolt will display DRT's groundbreaking electric racing car at the London Olympia exhibition - fresh from its debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed where it made automotive history in front of thousands.
The car - the B12/69EV - is the brainchild of green technology pioneer and former Minister of Science and Innovation Lord Drayson. It showcases advances such as inductive charging, composite battery power, moveable aerodynamics and electrical regenerative damping, making it one of the most innovative cleantech motorsport projects in the world. It also boasts more than 850 horsepower and a top speed of around 200mph.
Based near Heathrow, iVolt is also at the forefront of green technology. Its award-winning voltage optimisation system can reduce electricity bills and Co2 emissions by up to 20% and has been installed by, among others, supermarket giants, railway stations, hotel and restaurant chains, factories and schools. It is the only voltage optimisation equipment on the market to offer a patented Intelligent Real Time Energy Monitor, which can track the savings voltage optimisation is producing at a site both remotely, and in real time. iVolt will also be launching a pioneering new product at the Energy Solutions show, which is set to revolutionise power supply to new builds.
Regulars at the exhibition - which takes place this year from October 10-11, next door to the FM event - may remember iVolt displaying another racing car, the Radical SR8, at the 2011 show.
iVolt founder and managing director Manhal Allos, who races a Radical and used iVolt's technology to monitor his car's power consumption and offset its carbon emissions, said he was delighted to have teamed up with DRT to showcase their electric prototype racing car at this year's exhibition.
