- 15th National BBQ Week Starts Today Monday 30th May
- And it Going to be the Biggest Barbi Year Ever!
The 15th National BBQ Week starts today Monday 30th May and so far Barbi's have been really sizzling this year! Firstly we've had two Bank Holidays and some great weather, with Easter recording 7 million+ BBQ occasions, swiftly eclipsed by the first May Bank Holiday, including the Royal Wedding. Over that Bank Holiday weekend 11 million BBQ's were held, with 7.5 million alone being held on April 29th, making this officially Britain's Biggest-ever Barbi Day!
Subsequently we've had Barack and David going for the Grill at No. 10 last week and sizzling-up a storm as they Barbi'ed some gastro-grilling favourites, courtesy of The GrillMaster, Brian George, president of the National BBQ Association; as a starter - Awesome Asparagus with Parmigiano & Lime; main - Best-ever Burger with Pancetta, Avocado & Blue Cheese butter, followed by for puds; Heavenly Honey n' Cream Grill-glazed Nectarines - really yummy! As if that wasn't enough, rumour has it that Barack O'Barbi & Grill Minister David were at it again at the G8 summit in France, wowing Szarkozy, Merkel and the rest with their essential grill skills!
15th National BBQ Week - the annual celebration of Better BBQ
So despite the somewhat gloomy & windy weather this Bank Holiday weekend, we'll be celebrating as this summer's 15th National BBQ Week May 30th - June 5th gets underway, and where we'll be again encouraging everyone to become Better BBQ'ers; focussing on affordable, but fun 'Gastro-grilling' through the 'Sausage to Swordfish & Burger to Brochette' evolution.
