Italtel, a leading telecommunications company in Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), managed services and all-IP communication, today announced the availability of its 'SIP Trunking as a Service' solution - based on the NetMatch-S Cloud-Inside Session Border Controller (SBC) - for service providers' business customers.

Designed to address the emerging needs of enterprises, the solution allows cost-effective Unified Communication and Collaboration (UC&C) work tools to be implemented, resulting in improved internal productivity and reduced connectivity expenses. Italtel's NetMatch-S SBC, developed according to the NFV and Software Defined Networking (SDN) paradigms, is at the core of the solution and enables on-demand services to be initiated in a service provider's network Data Center. This eliminates the cost of deploying the SBC at the customer's premises, as well as additional maintenance and operational expenses.
Service Providers adopting the solution can increase their revenues and operational efficiency by offering a service that can be immediately and automatically launched without overhauling or upgrading their networks. One incumbent Telco has already deployed the solution to quickly perform the deployment of new SIP Trunking connections.

By leveraging the cloud computing paradigm, a service provider can offer the solution to its business customers via a 'self-service' portal. The service definition can then be set according to the enterprise's present business needs, while the scalability can be arranged according to the enterprise's future business demands. In addition, the Italtel SBC's signaling and media interoperability features means service activation doesn't require complex configurations or interoperability tests when connecting different types of IP-PBXs including legacy PBXs behind a Voice Gateway, to the network.
