International Law Firm Shortlisted for Excellence Award
LONDON, August 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
- McAllister Olivarius, a law firm focusing on workplace discrimination, Title IX and commercial litigation, is recognised by Law Society’s panel of experts
International law firm McAllister Olivarius announced today that it has been nominated for the Lexcel Award for Practice Management in the Law Society's Excellence Awards 2014. A panel of senior industry experts made the selection, based on the firm's superiority in managing its practice, leading to excellent client care and more effective legal representation.
"We take practice management very seriously at MCO, because a soundly run firm helps ensure we deliver superior service and obtain the best outcomes for our clients," said Jef McAllister, Managing Partner. "The Law Society sets very high standards in this area, so we're delighted that they have seen fit to include us among the short list of distinguished nominees for this award."
Under the Law Society's Lexcel practice management programme, all aspects of firm operations - finances, human resources, risk management, client care - are subject to audit, including in-depth interviews with employees at all levels to determine if the firm's expectations and standards have permeated its culture.
McAllister Olivarius, with offices in London and New York, has special expertise representing people treated unfairly at work and bringing discrimination claims in the UK and US, including Title IX cases involving universities. Its founding partner, Ann Olivarius, was named by the American Civil Liberties Union as one of the nine most influential people in the history of Title IX. The firm also has a thriving practice in commercial litigation, corporate transactions and protecting digital reputations (including in revenge porn cases) on both sides of the Atlantic.
In January, the firm received its fourth consecutive Lexcel accreditation.
"I warmly congratulate this year's finalists," said Law Society president Andrew Caplen. "We are in possession of the world's most respected and most referenced legal system, which is only possible and only maintained because of the intellect, skill and integrity of our members."
Winners for the Law Society Excellence Awards 2014 will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by BBC News presenter Mishal Husain on October 9 at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, London.
