-- ASEAN's Leading and First-of-Year Industrial Machinery & Subcontracting Exhibition Increases 20% in Exhibition Space
BANGKOK, May 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- INTERMACH, ASEAN's leading industrial machinery and subcontracting exhibition prepares to open doors May 16-19 at BITEC, Bangkok Thailand. Now in its 30th year, INTERMACH 2013 reaches a record 20% growth in exhibition space with 1,200+ participating manufacturers and distributors of industrial machinery from across 35 countries to showcase over 4,000 products and technologies - several making their Southeast Asian debut. Co-organized with the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and co-located with Sheet Metal Asia - the region's largest showcase of sheet metal fabrication machinery, and SUBCON Thailand - the largest subcontracting exhibition in Southeast Asia, INTERMACH 2013 marks the event's 30th anniversary and milestone vis-a-vis the growing Thai machinery import and export industry and opportunities of the upcoming AEC 2015
According to the BOI, Thailand's machinery and metalworking sectors currently comprise of approximately 50,000 enterprises with a majority being Thai-owned small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Machinery and parts currently rank in Thailand's top 5 most imported goods with Bt605 billion worth imported in 2011. Meanwhile, electrical machines and accessories, having individual functions, were the leading products with an imported value of Bt45.05 billion in 2010. Accordingly, opportunities exist for suppliers to capitalize on this growing demand for more sophisticated machinery by providing domestic downstream industries with a local source. In fact, Thailand's world-class downstream manufacturing base has boosted imports of industrial machinery while the Thai industrial machinery sector itself has rapidly developed as an exporter.
INTERMACH Thailand is the essential professional platform for companies seeking the latest automated industrial machinery and equipment that can help streamline production. Running in conjunction with SUBCON Thailand - the top regional subcontracting event for procuring industrial parts - the two events form a powerful business gateway allowing Thai, Asian, Southeast Asian, and in particular Japanese entrepreneurs to join forces ahead of the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community ( AEC).
Mr. Udom Wongviwatchai, Secretary General, Thailand Board of Investment notes, "This year the BOI will invite industrial part-buyers from both domestic and international sources - not less than 300 buyers from 14 countries. Industrial part-buyers that have already confirmed to attend this important event include investors from; Japan, China, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Malaysia, India, Philippines, and the Czech Republic. Major entrepreneurs attending will include Toyota, Haier, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Robert Bosch, Whirlpool, Toshiba, Denso, Daikin and Samsung. The Business Match-making Program is expected to complete 3,500 pairings between part-makers and industrial part-buyers generating over 6.5 billion baht worth of business."
Notable events this year at INTERMACH Thailand includes the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding ceremony between the Alliance of Supporting Industry Association and ASEAN Support Industry Association which will include over 130 prominent representatives and delegates from manufacturing, electrical, industrial associations and chambers of commerce from Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore and Myanmar .
