Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT), the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, today announced that Frank Coles has been appointed Senior Director - Maritime Services for Inmarsat's Global Xpress programme.

With 34 years in the maritime industry, Frank J. Coles has been able to apply a wealth of knowledge and give the mariner and ship owner exactly what they need to do their job and run their business. Coles was formerly the CEO and President of Globe Wireless, leading the development of the innovative Globe iFusion solution, launched in 2010.

Coles is a Master Mariner, with a Master's Degree in Maritime Law from University of Wales, Cardiff, and he served 12 years as a deck officer at sea. This was followed by 5 years as a lawyer at Richards Butler (London) and Stephenson Harwood & Lo (Hong Kong).

Previous experience also includes General Manager with Pacific Basin Bulk Shipping.
