LONDON, August 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
To better understand the key trends impacting the infrastructure asset management industry, IQPC Exchange conducted a research survey to examine the top 3 priorities facing COOs, Managing Directors, Directors of Asset Management, Maintenance and Operations, representing companies from the utilities, oil and gas, aviation, highway, port and rail sectors across Europe.
The findings of this survey have been used to help shape the content covered at the 2013 Infrastructure Asset Management Exchange, taking place 18-20 March 2013 in London.
Improving asset performance is the biggest challenge facing 76% of asset management professionals in their current projects. It is a particularly acute challenge when maintaining older assets and infrastructure. Delivering a reliable and stable service that keeps customers happy is of paramount concern, and finding ways to link improved asset management to drive better customer service is a key priority, but implementing and measuring the right performance indicators to help achieve this can be very difficult.
Other key challenges included: Demonstrating regulatory compliance and industry accreditation such as PAS 55 (63%); improving people, performance and process risk management (60%) and creating a sustainable asset management strategy that delivers value to the business (30%).
Julia Mansell, Head of Production,Infrastructure Asset Management Exchange, comments: "For such highly regulated companies, it's understandable that demonstrating regulatory compliance is the top priority for so many asset management professionals. Health and safety regulations, including protecting the lone worker in the field, is a primary focus, while practitioners also want to understand how PAS 55 accreditation can help optimise asset management. I look forward to discussing this with our network of asset management professionals at the 2013 IAM Exchange!"
