Infortrend Launches EonStor DS 4000 RAID Systems

NEW TAIPEI CITY, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Infortrend® (TWSE: 2495) today announced the launch of the new EonStor DS 4000 series of mid-range storage systems with 11,000MB/s read and 4,200MB/s write capabilities -- double the typical performance in their storage segment -- with most storage systems currently only delivering 5,500MB/s-6,500 MB/s of read performance. The EonStor DS 4000 series also boasts an innovative dual host board design and 12Gb/s SAS support.

It is common to have numerous hosts in one application environment. The innovative dual host board design on EonStor DS 4000 systems accelerates performance and maximizes connection versatility for hosts, supporting extensive hybrid interconnects with Fibre Channel, SAS, and iSCSI all on the one system. Customers can choose and mix various host interfaces, making EonStor DS 4000 systems perfect for modern IT infrastructures.
Drive-side 12Gb/s SAS support is another major feature of this new series. With the latest 12Gb/s SAS technology and its faster speeds, EonStor DS 4000 systems are especially recommended for media editing, databases and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) applications. They are highly scalable and support up to 436 drives via Infortrend's JB 3000 expansion enclosures (JBODs), which also feature 12Gb/s SAS drive-side support.
