Infortrend EonStor DS 3060 High Density and Large Capacity Systems Support 2.5" Drives and Automated Storage Tiering

TAIPEI, April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Infortrend® (Public TPE: 2495) announced that its EonStor DS 3060 4U 60-bay high density models now accommodate 2.5" SSD/HDD and support automated storage tiering. EonStor DS 3060 storage solutions combine high density and extensive expandability, benefiting users from reduced physical storage footprint and lower power consumption while free from storage scalability worries.

The demand for fast SSD storage and compact and power-efficient 2.5" hard drives continues to grow, with emphasis on SSD support across storage solutions. When combining SSD and storage tiering, users tap SSD speeds and HDD capacity, and with Infortrend solutions automated tiering improves performance by up to 15 times for read speeds and 35 times for write activity compared to non-tiering systems. For mission-critical performance, 2.5" is becoming the only choice in mechanical drives, as supply of 3.5" disks capable of 15K rpm will be discontinued soon.

EonStor DS 3060 high density systems pack large capacity into relatively compact 4U rackmount units. They support low power consumption SSD, require less floor space and are more energy-efficient for lower power bills. They are also scalable to 2,160TB by using five expansion enclosures and 6TB drives.
