MINSK, Belarus, May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
On May 2, IBA Group - http://www.ibagroupit - and the Modern Art Museum of Belarus opened an exhibition entitled Hanns Baum: 18 Years in Belarus. Collages. Assemblages. Organized in Minsk, Belarus, the exhibition features selected works by the German artist Hanns Baum who spent 18 years in Belarus working as IBM coordinator at IBA Minsk, the largest development center of IBA Group.
The foundation of his creative works is a formal experiment with objects of everyday use and fragments of reality. When building a composition, the artist uses collages, combinations of different objects, and stratifications. He pays special attention to texture, which is actually a basis of the collage technique. Hanns integrates, transforms, and gives new life to objects. With regard to collages and assemblages by Mr. Baum, one can speak of deliberate manipulations on a flat surface. As a result, a pseudo style, pseudo beauty, and a pseudo work of art are created.
In addition to the exhibition, the project includes a press conference, numerous interviews, a meeting with local students, a workshop, and a party for IBA employees who worked with Hanns.
The exhibition will be open until May 26, 2012.
