G4S plc Analyst Notes
On June 17, 2014, G4S plc (G4S) announced that the Company has recruited a robot 'Bob' from the University of Birmingham to join its U.K. workforce as a trainee security officer on a three week trial. G4S informed that Bob will be assigned tasks like patrolling the offices, and monitoring the environment, checking doors are closed and that desks are clear. According to the Company, Bob uses cameras and scanners to create a map of his surrounding area, identifying desks, chairs and other objects that he must negotiate when he is moving around, as well as detecting people's movement through activity recognition. Bob is a part of £7.2 million STRANDS project where robots will learn how to act intelligently and independently in real-world environments. Centrica PLC Analyst Notes
On June 19, 2014, Centrica PLC (Centrica) announced that the Company has purchased 750,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 321.72 pence per share through J.P. Morgan Securities plc on June 18, 2014. Centrica informed that the highest price and the lowest price paid for these shares were 323.50 pence and 320.20 pence, respectively.
