LONDON, May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
To celebrate the start of the great British summer, The Langham London launches its annual Bijoux Afternoon Tea creation with Champagne Laurent-Perrier, long since synonymous with the British social season.
Famed as the birthplace of the afternoon tea tradition, Palm Court will be transformed into the perfect setting for summer afternoon tea. Taking his inspiration from Laurent-Perrier's annual designer garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, resident florist Adrian Ghione has designed a quintessentially English garden themed with bespoke picket fences and beautiful floral displays, to coincide with the launch on 15th May.
Tea aficionados will be rewarded with stunning pastry creations conceived by award-winning Executive Pastry Chef, Cherish Finden. The Bijoux Tea will feature exquisite pastry delicacies with a subtle nod to the summer's main social gatherings. For Chelsea Flower Show, an English Rose Garden Chocolate Cremeux, Financier Elderflower and Greek yoghurt Panna Cotta topped with a floral décor; for Royal Ascot, a Victorian 'Sponge Hat' as its centerpiece and for the Wimbledon Championships, a 'Centre Court' Valrhona Chocolate Tart.
The Summer season Bijoux Afternoon Tea will be available in Palm Court from Thursday 15 May until Sunday 6th July and is priced at £52.00 per person or with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut at £65.00 per person.
Embracing the tradition of hat wearing for summer society events, The Langham, London is also offering budding selfie snappers a chance to win a weekend break with afternoon tea and a bottle of Laurent-Perrier by sending a photograph of themselves in Palm Court sporting their millinery, including the event hash tag, and tweeting or instagramming @Langham_London.
