Hardy builds Property and Engineering capability with the hire of two new Senior Underwriters
LONDON, Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hardy Underwriting is pleased to announce the appointment of two new senior hires to the underwriting team; Matthew Bond, Senior Underwriter, Power Generation and Miles Osorio, Senior Underwriter, Direct & Facultative (D&F) Property.

Commenting on the appointment Dave Brosnan, Chief Executive Officer, said:

Matthew, along with Ross Barlow and Laurence Talbot, also formally of Mitsui, will be responsible for building Hardy's Power Generation account as part of the broader engineering market sector.
Previous to Hardy, Matthew was Class Underwriter for the Power and Industrial Risks portfolio at Mitsui. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and worked as an engineer in the nuclear industry for three years before moving into the insurance industry in 1997, initially as a loss prevention engineer at AXA Corporate Solutions. He joined Mitsui in 2002 and headed up their Risk Engineering division before moving into underwriting in 2010.
Miles will be leading the D&F Property team at Hardy and joins from Montpelier Syndicate 5151 where he was Head of Individual Risk, International Property responsible for helping to grow the London D&F Property book. He began his career with Willis in 1991 brokering worldwide D&F property business. He then joined Marsh where he was a Senior Vice President and ran the international D&F Property team with particular responsibility for Asia and the Americas.
