Grupo Aeromexico Reports 1 million 215 Thousand Passengers in January 2013

MEXICO CITY, Feb. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V. ("Aeromexico") (BMV: AEROMEX), the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for January, 2013.

Grupo Aeromexico transported 1 million 215 thousand passengers in January; a 1% year-on-year increase. International passengers grew 6.2% while domestic passengers decreased 1.2%.

The Company's demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased 2.1% and capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 5.3% year on year. January's load factor was therefore 74.8%.

According to the latest report published by the DGAC (Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil – Mexico's National Aviation Authority), Grupo Aeromexico had 35% of the domestic market and 14% of the international market in the month of December, 2012.  For the full year, Grupo Aeromexico had 26% of the total market, with 38% of the domestic market and 14% of the international market.

DGAC's market share data is based on its Air Carrier Operational Statistics reports, which are published within one month of Grupo Aeromexico's operational statistics.

• " Load Factor " equals the number of passengers transported as a percentage of the number of seats offered. It is a measure of the airline's capacity utilization. This metric takes into account the total passengers transported and total seats available in itinerary flights.
• " Passengers " refers to the total number of passengers transported by the airline.
