Go West! 7th EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair Opens in Chengdu
CHENGDU, China, Sept. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As one of the most essential branches of the 13th Western China International Fair (WCIF), the EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair VII (ECBF) is scheduled on 25-27 September in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, southwestern China.
ECBF has been successfully held for six editions with an overall attendance of over 1,000 EU companies, organizations, universities, governmental bodies and research institutions, etc., and more than 2,500 Chinese counterparts. Today, the Fair represents a prominent investment, trade and technology cooperation platform between the EU and China. This years' edition will be branded as "EU-China Innovation Cluster Cooperation" and will focus on bio-pharmaceutical, environmental protection, new energy and IT sectors. Over 500 experts, scholars and business players in the targeted sectors have been invited, as well as governors and officials from both China and the EU, in order to share the latest policies, frontier technologies as well as business best practices. The three-day fair includes the Polish Enterprises Investment Seminar, B to B Match-making Meetings, Western China Innovation & Technology Transfer Summit, China-Europe Business Cooperation Roundtable, EU-China Cluster Event and the EEN Partner Global Conference. While, the Montpelier Wine Delegation will start a promotional campaign for Montpelier French Wine Tasting and Wine Culture.
Noticeably, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) West China, which is approved by the DG Enterprise of the European Commission and implemented by EU Project Innovation Center (EUPIC), has played a key role in building the platform of information-sharing and collaboration between SMEs from China and Europe. With their support, Poland, for example, is dispatching a delegation of almost 50 polish companies.
Early this month, the 7th EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair News Briefing was held by the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone Management Committee, attracting more than 60 media, including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Business News, China Daily, News Sichuan and Chengdu Business Daily. ECBF and its following efforts are expected to afford a more effective, practical and professional platform to guarantee the technology cooperation to be a long-term, win-win partnership for China and the EU. Chengdu, a major second-tier city of China, will benefit and become a base for the "World Innovation and Investment Promotion Center" in western China.
