China's glyphosate and PMIDA manufacturers are still facing the pressure of compliance with the environmental protection requirements. According to a report in the Zhejiang Daily on 10 Dec., 2013, a few workers from Fanbu Chemical Factorya subsidiary of Zhejiang Jinfanda Bio-Chemical Co., Ltd., one worker from Jiande Chemical No. 2 Factory belonging to Zhejiang Wynca Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. and a number of people from the companies which have a cooperation relationship about hazardous waste treatment with Fanbu Chemical Factory and Jiande Chemical No. 2 Factory have been arrested for environmental pollution crimes by the Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department.
Due to the weak demand in the domestic and overseas markets, the glyphosate ex-works price continued its downward trend from late Nov. 2013 to mid-Dec. 2013. In light of the current high pressure to comply with environmental protection requirements, will the ex-works price of glyphosate continue to decline from late Dec. 2013 to mid-Jan. 2014?
