Global Rockstar & AKG Present World Wide Song Contest Online
VIENNA, Austria, October 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
The search for the Global Rockstar Song 2012 starts on http://www.global-rockstar.com on 4 October. Artists from 196 countries are called to enter the race with their original song.
The internet makes it possible: bands, singers and musicians of all ages and all genres can upload videos of their original songs until 1 December 2012. Which song will win on 1 January 2013 will be decided by the users and an expert jury. The artists can win record deals and band equipment from AKG & YAMAHA worth 10 000 USD.
Global Rockstar founder Christof Straub: "We have founded Global Rockstar because we love songs. There is so much undiscovered music worth listening to. As a music producer and songwriter I know how important it is that artists get a maximum of international visibility and that they also profit financially. Global Rockstar guarantees both." Co-founder Ronny Steibl adds: "In our sponsoring program big brands can support songs and artists financially. To guarantee a fair result of the contest, user from all around the world will become the jury via social-media-voting. Additionally, an expert jury from the music industry will award wild cards."
Christof Straub, music producer and mastermind of the many-times awarded band Papermoon is responsible for Teenage Rockstar - an online platform for music youth contests - since 2009. Together with Ronny Steibl the Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest was implemented online in 2012. Musicians from 45 countries uploaded their songs to the topic "The Future We Want" on Global-Rockstar.net in spring 2012. Eventually, the winners from Portugal and Romania performed live at the UN Rio+20 Conference.
