GLG Announces Six 2016 Social Impact Fellows; Third Class of Fellows Features Leading Innovators & Nonprofits

The 2016 Fellows and their organizations tackle a range of social challenges around the world – from water and sanitation to veteran support and rehabilitation in the U.S. to vocational education in Africa.

Beginning today with a two-day convening in New York City, the 2016 class joins GLG's community of leading innovators, investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, corporations, and professional services firms, who learn every day from GLG's membership of top academics and policy specialists, C-suite executives, scientists, former public sector officials, and other professional leaders. Fellows and their teams will have unlimited access to GLG's 500,000 Council Members, at no cost, as they work to solve their toughest organizational challenges and create meaningful social impact.

The 2016 GLG Fellows are:

Almost 500 leading early-stage and growing nonprofits and social enterprise organizations applied for this year's Fellowships. The competitive selection process was based on an analysis of the missions and models of the applicant organizations, and how well GLG's resources could help them improve efficacy and achieve impact at key moments in their growth.

GLG launched its Social Impact Fellowship in 2014 to extend the benefits of GLG's learning model to social sector leaders who could best take advantage of it. In its first two years, GLG members worked with Fellows taking on critical social challenges, including empowerment of women and girls in Africa, economic mobility for low-income families across the U.S., and sustainable home design.
