CHESSINGTON, England, May 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Six years ago, Genuine Solutions was operating its mobile phone accessory distribution from the front room of a house in Chessington, using a push-bike to pick up stock it stored at a local storage unit ready to deliver to customers.
Today, it is a true success story: Genuine Solutions holds a prestigious Queen's Award for International Trade, serves 800 customers in more than 30 countries, employs 75 staff and has a turnover of more than GBP25 million.
Christian McBride, Director, said, "I am totally overwhelmed by this Queen's Award. It is an amazing achievement and I thank everyone at the company for their hard work. Six years ago we were operating out of the front room of a house, today we have four commercial units, 75 staff and are now going to meet the Queen who has honoured us with an award for enterprise. It's a very proud moment."
Bav Majithia, Managing Director, also spoke about the achievement: "This is an incredible milestone for Genuine Solutions, and demonstrates what can be achieved with hard work. Personally, I am over the moon that we have received such an honour, and this reflects upon the entire staff as well."
The award also recognizes a company's international expansion, and Genuine Solutions' strategies of using multilingual sales staff, working to hours that reflect different time-zones, and positioning itself to understand the requirements of foreign marketplaces all impressed the awarding body.
The distribution company now forms part of the Genuine Solutions Group, and within the group are operations that concentrate on ethical business practices, such as the environmental product recycling carried out by Genuine Solutions UK, an operation that addresses the environmental impact caused by sending tonnes of old and damaged mobile phone accessories to landfill. In three years of operation, Genuine Solutions UK has recovered more than seven million accessories, diverting hundreds of tonnes of materials sent to landfill for companies such as Vodafone, T-Mobile, The Carphone Warehouse and others.
Another operation, Recyclewise, offers mobile phone recycling for charities, raising valuable donations for national charities such as Scope, Unicef, Willow Foundation, Kids Company and organisations such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
As well as a Queen's Award, Genuine Solutions have picked up various accolades along the way, including listings in both the Fast Track 100 and International Track 100, regional business awards and most recently an International Safety Award 2011 from the British Safety Council.
