GAC Motor Releases the GS8, its First 7-seat SUV, to Redefine High-end SUV Market
GUANGZHOU, China, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GAC Motor, one of China's leading automobile manufacturers, released its first 7-seat SUV, the GS8, at Hangzhou International Expo Center, the main venue of the G20 summit on Oct. 26. During the launch, GAC Motor's General Manager Yu Jun announced that GAC Motor will strive to make GS8 the hottest model, with sales amounting to 100,000 annually. The Chinese No. 1 high-end SUV, the GS8 is powered by the company's golden dynamic Ti POWER 320T engine and six-speed automatic gearbox. By applying GAC Motor's second generation i-4WD 2.0 four-wheel drive system, the GS8 offers a powerful yet smooth ride across six driving modes (sandy roads, muddy roads, snowy roads, intelligent auto, sports, and ECO). It also applies the latest Bosch electronic stability program 9.1 (ESP 9.1) that improves the car's stability by detecting and reducing loss of traction (skidding).
Other intelligent technology attributes include automatic tailgate opening and a series of auxiliary driving assistance systems for active and passive protection, such as emergency braking and lane departure warning.
The GS8's matrix-type LED headlights and U-shaped taillights generate a deep, multi-layered lighting effect and combine for an aggressive yet calm aesthetic, while the elegantly simple interior adopts a 7-seat, 3-row layout and an ultra-size panoramic sunroof.
