Fusion-io Expands Enterprise Storage Memory Product Offering on Dell PowerEdge Servers
- New ioDriveModels Deliver Up to 1.28 TB, Increasing Memory Capacity and I/O Rates for Performance Intensive Applications
SALT LAKE CITY, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- /Interop Booth #1459/ -- Fusion-io, pioneer of a next generation storage memory platform for shared data decentralization, announced today that it has extended its OEM alliance with Dell to offer additional ioDrive models. In addition, Dell has now qualified Fusion's ioMemory technology for five of its PowerEdge servers.
"As our customers continue to experience exponential data growth, the ability to place their most active data on servers with shared data decentralization becomes increasingly appealing for speeding up applications and enterprise database performance," said Brian Payne, executive director of Platform Marketing for Dell's PowerEdge Server portfolio. "With storage memory products from Fusion-io, Dell PowerEdge customers will be able to engineer a more powerful and flexible data infrastructure to meet their growing data needs."
Through the expanded OEM relationship, Dell will offer three additional ioMemory-based products - the 320 and 640 GB ioDrives and the 1.28 TB ioDrive Duo - in addition to its previous ioDrive products.
Dell will also extend its server platform support to include the Dell PowerEdge R610 and the Dell PowerEdge R910 Rack Server. Dell PowerEdge Servers feature increased memory capacity and I/O rates for performance intensive applications in demanding environments. The Dell PowerEdge server portfolio offers a range of options with easy configuration, powerful open-standard systems management, scalable storage and flexible services designed to serve as the foundation of a reliable and efficient infrastructure.
"Recognizing that shared data decentralization gives enterprises a competitive advantage by speeding up access to their most active data, Dell's innovative team is giving PowerEdge server customers even more options to increase application performance while reducing infrastructure and operating costs," said Gary Orenstein, Vice President of Products for Fusion-io. "Fusion ioDrives provide PowerEdge servers with native access to an organization's most critical data assets, and we are proud that Dell has qualified Fusion technology as a solution its customers can trust when engineering solutions that enhance the capabilities of their infrastructures."

About Fusion-io
Fusion-io has pioneered a next generation storage memory platform for shared data decentralization that significantly improves the processing capabilities within a datacenter by relocating process-critical, or "active", data from centralized storage to the server where it is being processed, a methodology referred to as data decentralization. Fusion's integrated hardware and software solutions leverage non-volatile memory to significantly increase datacenter efficiency and offers enterprise grade performance, reliability, availability and manageability. Fusion's data decentralization platform can transform legacy architectures into next generation datacenters and allows enterprises to consolidate or significantly reduce complex and expensive high performance storage, high performance networking and memory-rich servers. Fusion's platform enables enterprises to increase the utilization, performance and efficiency of their datacenter resources and extract greater value from their information assets.
