Frost & Sullivan Unveils Top Trends in Chemical, Materials and Food Industries in 2014
- Online conference to discuss growth opportunities and technologies to watch for
LONDON, May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan's research team has identified the key trends, opportunities and challenges for chemicals, materials and food industries in 2014, following its annual 'Search for Growth' survey that involved 1835 executives in more than 40 countries globally.
The new areas of growth and new market opportunities will be discussed during Frost & Sullivan's upcoming web conference on Thursday, 8th May 2014, at 14:00 GMT. Frost & Sullivan Chemicals & Materials Industry Principal Brian Balmer will reveal the hot subjects that will have the greatest growth potential in the respective market.
"Frost & Sullivan's extensive client base has taken part in a survey to find out what markets and industries are most important to them in 2014. The new hot topic of the year is personal care seeing a real step-change in 2014 with attitudes to ingredients, especially organic and natural ingredients", notes Dr. Balmer.
"Our 2014 survey shows some common themes retaining the popularity we saw in 2013, but also sees some new areas come to the fore. In the transportation sector, after a year out of the spotlight, lightweight materials returns to its former position as the dominant issue", continues Dr. Balmer.
Based on the same survey in 2013, Frost & Sullivan had identified emerging markets for the chemicals, materials and food industries. BRIC was leading the developments even with the slow down observed in China and India and the political and social unrests in Brazil and Russia. Also Turkey and Southeast Asia countries, such as Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia are strengthening their global position as production and consumption hot spots. The leading industries identified in 2013 were: construction and utilities, transportation, foods and beverage, personal protective equipment, and food, drug, and cosmetics.
