Frost & Sullivan Presents New Product Innovation Award to Enecsys for its Pioneering Micro Inverters
- Enecsys's innovative micro inverters provide 5 per cent to 10 per cent more energy harvest than conventional equivalents
LONDON, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the solar inverters market, Frost & Sullivan recognises Enecsys with the 2012 Europe New Product Innovation Award for its highly innovative micro inverters.
"Enecsys has successfully addressed the issue of differential harvest with its novel micro inverters," notes Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Gautham Gnanajothi. "Their unique selling point is that they provide 5 per cent to 10 per cent more energy harvest than either a conventional string inverter or a central inverter. Such smart energy conversion facilitates higher return on investment (ROI) for customers since the differential harvest is more."
The increase in overall energy harvest is achieved through a panel-matching basis, where each inverter is attached to individual modules connected in parallel. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is done on a panel level, which results in the optimal performance of each module. This ultimately lowers the energy cost incurred by the consumer.
Enecsys has essentially redesigned the micro inverter, eliminating life limiting components, such as electrolytic capacitors. In contrast, the patented topology it uses is highly rugged and reliable, promising an industry-leading life expectancy of 25 years – equivalent to the lifespan of a solar panel.
"This patented topology is based on thin-film capacitors and uses only industrial and military grade components," explains Gnanajothi. "In order to further enhance the reliability of its micro inverters, Enecsys uses the application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) technology, which reduces the number of internal components. Leveraging these leading-edge technologies has enabled Enecsys micro inverters to perform at a class-leading efficiency of 95 per cent over a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius."
The other core features which distinguish Enecsys Micro Inverters are its comprehensive monitoring capabilities and industry-leading safety standards.
Enecsys has a comprehensive performance monitoring system wherein the performance of each individual module can be monitored separately, thereby helping installers identify the exact location of the problem and then providing precise guidance for any required maintenance. This supports better maintenance and service, compared to conventional string inverters.
"Customers benefit from the detailed, real-time information provided to ensure optimal performance of the PV system," adds Gnanajothi. "The monitoring capabilities of Enecsys Micro Inverters benefit both consumers as well as utilities by providing them with information to intelligently manage grid connected solar installations."
Enecsys Micro Inverters have an added advantage in terms of safety issues. They eliminate high voltage DC wiring, as the conversion from DC to AC is done on a panel level. They also eliminate the need for specialised DC equipment for installation.
Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in developing a product with innovative elements that leverages leading edge technologies, that offers valued added features and benefits, supports increased customer ROI and has the potential for enhanced customer acquisition/penetration.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognise companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
