SUNNYVALE, California, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the video conferencing hosted and managed services market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Vidtel with its 2012 North America Frost & Sullivan Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award. The first is to focus on the underserved midmarket, which is ripe with opportunities; the second is to address the interoperability conundrum by being a cloud provider delivering any-to-any video conferencing service; the third is to develop a channel-friendly model; and fourth, to offer a disruptive pricing model that encourages higher technology uptake.
Vidtel opted for a business plan that addresses both the advent of the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) paradigm and the proliferation of video on mobile and other devices. Vidtel can serve customers without an MCU, or they can complement customers with an existing MCU. The Vidtel MeetMe service is a cloud-based video conferencing service featuring any-to-any interoperability. For customers with an existing MCU, the Vidtel Gateway service complements that MCU by allowing it to interwork with WebRTC, Skype, and Google Talk endpoints.
Vidtel has been keen on securing a solid indirect go-to-market model. This effort culminated in the creation of a channel partner program, which enabled Vidtel to establish strong relationships with video equipment vendors, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service providers, managed service providers, and video value-added resellers (VARs) to re-sell Vidtel service.
