Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Enhancement Award Recognizes GE Healthcare's AgileTrac
-- RTL S technology -based AgileTrac supports total visibility of hospital assets and resources, resulting in optimum capacity utilization and workflows
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan recently analyzed real-time location system (RTLS) solutions for the hospital operations management market and would like to recognize GE Healthcare with the 2012 North America Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Enhancement. GE is commended for its exceptional healthcare enterprise resource management solutions, specifically the RTLS technology-based AgileTrac.
"GE Healthcare's AgileTrac offers complete and real-time visibility into the flow and working of assets and resources in a hospital," noted Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Nandini Bhattacharya. "In addition to offering rapid and easy identification of asset location, the solution offers visibility on inventory stock levels and potential workflow bottlenecks. Such total visibility allows hospital personnel to proactively address any holdups, resulting in optimum capacity utilization."
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in implementing strategies that proactively create value for its customers with a focus on improving the return on the investment that customers make in its services or products. This award recognizes the company's inordinate focus on enhancing the value that its customers receive, beyond simply good customer service, leading to improved customer retention and ultimately customer base expansion.
AgileTrac provides comprehensive information on how patients, personnel, fixed and mobile assets, including medical equipment and patient beds, are working and moving through a hospital environment at any given time. RTLS technology enables AgileTrac to accurately track the location of each patient or physical asset and send alerts when there are changes in the location of any patient or asset.
The solution also interacts with the other business systems within a hospital, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and electronic medical records (EMR). This provides users with complete views of the location of assets, combined with any locational change of assets or resources.
"As AgileTrac works in conjunction with the other business systems in a hospital, it is equipped to predict potential issues pertaining to operational workflow, which, in turn, enables the concerned personnel to take precautionary measures prior to the actual occurrence of a problem," said Bhattacharya. "It also has the capability to generate critical patient flow metrics, facilitating easy decision-making and improved resource utilization."
AgileTrac is specifically designed to proactively identify and mitigate potential inefficiencies in the flow of care for patients. Another key feature is AgileTrac Bed Manager, which allows hospitals to automate the process of tracking and managing bed utilization, thus speeding up the process of admissions and discharges.
GE Healthcare compliments their AgileTrac with a suite of other hospital asset management solutions. This includes their AssetPlus solution, which provides visibility into asset lifecycle, as well as advanced reporting for planned maintenance, safety, compliance and cost management.
"The key factor that distinguishes GE Healthcare from its competitors is its strong focus on customer satisfaction," remarked Bhattacharya. "The company guides its customers across the entire implementation and integration process of the AgileTrac solution."
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
