The company's discerning eye for market, network and technological expansion opportunities sets it apart
CHENNAI, India, Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the public Wi-Fi services market, Frost & Sullivan recognises Ozone Networks with the 2015 Indian Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award. Ozone Networks is one of India's leading Wi-Fi service providers, catering to mobile and Internet operators, system integrators, luxury hotels, boutique hospitals, and public Wi-Fi hotspots. Through its innovative technologies, the firm provides reliable and affordable Internet access to approximately 44 million people each month.
With government plans for nationwide digitisation gaining momentum and the ever-rising demand for mobile data services gathering pace in India, the scope for Ozone to increase customer interactions on its network is huge. Understanding this, the company is playing an active role in the development of mobile networks. It aims to bridge the infrastructure gaps that curb the delivery of high-speed Internet services.
"Recognising the vast potential for expansion, Ozone intends to set up 1 million hotspots in India by 2020," said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Suraj Godse. "As the first step toward following through on its vision, Ozone is partnering with Ericsson to establish 30,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the length and breadth of the country."
Ozone's pioneering technologies have swung the market in its favour. Ozone Connect, which is a Wi-Fi auto-connection manager app, was successfully launched on Android. With the help of this app, registered users are automatically connected to a public Wi-Fi hotspot in its range. While competitors concentrate on standalone networks, Ozone is the only provider building neutral Wi-Fi networks in India. This small-cell-as-a-service model enables operators to boost network capacity and avoid congestion by seamlessly off-loading data for operators.
Beyond network and technological advancements, Ozone places immense emphasis on user experience in terms of connectivity and services. The organisation has partnered with SpeedFetch, a first-of-its-kind micro-caching application that provides speedy access to content without an Internet connection.
"In addition, Ozone has seized the first-mover advantage by entering into long-term contracts with businesses such as coffee chains and airports, thus creating premier Wi-Fi hotspots across India," noted Godse. "Ozone is also looking to capitalise on the smart city proposals of the Indian government."
Ozone's commitment to delivering seamless data connectivity and bolstering data networks continues to strengthen its value proposition in the wake of the escalating prospects in the Indian public Wi-Fi market.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in terms of growth strategy and implementation.
