From July 24th: Car Hire Company CarDelMar Publishes Details of its Mallorca GeoTour

- The car hire company is holding a treasure hunt in Mallorca from August 1^st to 10^th.

The launch of the Mallorca GeoTour is approaching. On July 24^th, CarDelMar is publishing the details of its treasure hunt: from this date, you can find cache co-ordinates and clues as to their hiding places at www.cardelmar.co.uk/geocaching/geocaching.php, www.geocaching.com/adventures/geotours and in social media. From 1^st to 10^th August, Mallorca holidaymakers can take part in the treasure hunt and search for cash prizes totalling 6,000€. The GeoTour combines geocaching with sightseeing and leads visitors to some of the most beautiful spots on the Balearic island.

"We've found some great hiding places for our caches," says CarDelMar Managing Director Carsten Greiner. The ten water-tight containers are hidden in attractive locations around the island. From 1^st to 9^th August, every morning CarDelMar will declare one cache as the cash cache of the day. Whoever finds it, with a bit of luck, can win 500€ every day: anyone finding the cache simply leaves their name in the cache logbook. In the lid of the cache will be a code which the finder should email to CarDelMar at geocaching@cardelmar.com the same day. CarDelMar will select the winner from the emails they receive each day.

On the tenth and last day, CarDelMar is raising the stakes: there will be 1000€ waiting for the first person to find a specific location in Palma de Mallorca. In addition to this, the car hire company will draw one €500 winner from those who discover at least eight of the caches during the ten days.

Participation in the GeoTour and the competition is open to anyone travelling in Mallorca, either in a rental vehicle or in their own car. Anyone wanting to take part will need a smartphone or GPS device, and a pen to leave their name in the cache logbook.

So that the GeoTour works for everyone, participants should remember the following: "Anyone who finds a cache should put it right back where they found it," said Carsten Greiner. "And they should take care that no-one is watching them."
