BORAS, Sweden, October 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
For the third consecutive year, Switzerland's Daniela Ryf was once again crowned champion of the IRONMAN World Championship held in Kona, Hawaii, USA. Daniela once again rode her custom IA FRD reinforced by TeXtreme® from Felt Bicycles. Since Felt introduced the IA FRD in 2013, the women's IRONMAN World Champion has ridden the Felt IA FRD to victory.
Bikes reinforced by TeXtreme® carbon fiber materials are no stranger to winning having won stages and races in competitions such as: Tour de France, IRONMAN World Championship, Giro d'Italia, La Vuelta de España and several World Championships.
TeXtreme® Technology is based on spreading tows (yarns) into very thin tapes and then weaving these tapes together to create ultralight and ultrathin woven fabrics which take advantage of proven thin ply theory to improve impact performance while reducing weight when compared to conventional woven carbon fiber fabrics.
"The knowledge we've acquired over the past 10 years has allowed us to become a valuable and trusted partner for our customers seeking to make world-class composite products with improved performance at lower weights than their competitors. We are able to create value for our customers by drawing upon our ability to offer FEA analysis, lay-up optimization and manufacturing support which used singularly, or in combination with one another, to create products of the highest quality and performance. The domination of the Felt IA FRD for the past four years further strengthens TeXtreme's ability to help deliver products which meet or exceed our customers' expectations", says Henrik Blycker, CEO of Oxeon AB.
TeXtreme® carbon fiber fabrics have been used in frames, wheels, saddles, helmets and shoes by cycling's top brands in the road, TT/TRI, cyclo-cross, track and MTB categories.
Alongside the use of TeXtreme® in bicycles, it can also be found in Formula 1, Americas Cup, NASCAR, Le Mans, Indy Car, ice hockey, golf, tennis, surf boards, table tennis, rowing shells, canoes, skis, snowboards, and various industrial and advanced aerospace applications.
TeXtreme®, the market leader in advanced carbon reinforcement technology, is the ultimate choice for making advanced ultra-light composites products with superior mechanical performance and surface smoothness.
TeXtreme® Technology is flexible and tow-size independent which enables the development of optimized reinforcement solutions which are tailor-made for specific needs of the application. Manufacturers of advanced aero, industrial and sports products have consistently found that using TeXtreme® Spread Tow carbon fabrics and UD tapes have enabled them to produce composite parts which are 20-30% lighter with improved mechanical properties and superior surface smoothness.
