Fortune Fountain Supports 2015 Retrace the Maritime Silk Road as Title Sponsor
-- "One Belt, One Road" strategy allows the Chinese Dream to connect with the world
BEIJING, June 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 2,000 years ago, a flotilla of trade ships sailed across the wide open seas, creating the Maritime Silk Road that became the basis for the longstanding trade relationship betweenthe Western and Oriental worlds. In 2013, China rolled out the "One Belt, One Road" development strategy, which rekindled hope for and brought renewed significance to the21st century's version of the Maritime Silk Road. The 2015 Retrace the Maritime Silk Road ocean voyage, a title event sponsored by Fortune Fountain (Beijing) Holding Group and led by renowned Chinese navigator Zhai Mo, kicked off this year in support of the "One Belt, One Road" vision, once again fostering the dream and raising the expectations for the new version of the road. Zhai, known as the top unpowered sailing vessel navigator in China, has led a team to retrace the ancient Maritime Silk Road on the aptly named "Zhai Mo" and "Fortune Fountain" unpowered sailboats.
Established in 2011, Fortune Fountain (Beijing) Holding Group Co. Ltd invests chiefly in businesses and financial instruments. The business investments are mostly in heavy industry, geriatric healthcare and assisted living facilities, agriculture and forestry, R&D and production of new energy sources and new materials, R&D for mobile telecommunications and the Big Dipper satellite navigation and positioning system, while the financial investments are focused on portfolio management, whole fund management, wealth management and asset management.
In addition to providing capital support for the event as the title sponsor, as part of the event, Fortune Fountain will also help leading Chinese entrepreneurs and investors who are already doing business with the firm to make their own contribution to the Chinese government's efforts to seek new opportunities in overseas markets for China-made products. The initiative also asks the Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to promote the connection between China and the rest of the world in terms of both monetary capital and intellectual capital, in a move to help fulfil the "One Belt, One Road" vision on a global level.
The route of the voyage passes through eight countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Egypt, Greece, Malta and Italy. Zhai and his sailing team have already made the stops at the first three ports of call, opening the door for China to enormous business opportunities in several areas, including traditional and emerging sectors as well as free trade zones and luxury products while further bringing China closer to the rest of the world by strengthening its cooperation with many countries around the world across a wide range of sectors.
For over 2,000 years, over time, the ancient Chinese Maritime Silk Road grew into a vehicle for the dissemination of both Chinese products and Chinese culture around the world and came to have deep historical significance as acultural symbol with distinctive Chinese characteristics as well as a key link that established the country's connection to the rest of the world. Today, the 21th century version of the Maritime Silk Road serves as the extension of the Chinese Dream and as the vehicle to transform the Chinese Dream into the world's dream. Fortune Fountain plays an important role in making that global dream become a reality.
