LONDON, July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Paul O'Donoghue, former Vice President of New York based tech firm, Yext Inc. and founder of Green Cathedral Digital Marketing, has been appointed Vice President EMEA of UK's fastest growing benefits provider, Perkbox (http://www.perkbox.co.uk).
The move forms part of Perkbox's extensive UK and international growth plans, which has seen the platform grow more than 30 times in terms of customer base and recurring revenue in the last 18 months.
With current growth of 50 per cent each quarter, Perkbox focuses on providing businesses with a pay-as-you-go cloud-based employee and customer engagement platform. Perkbox was this year cited no.2 in the Startups 100 index, recognising it as one of the most successful and fastest growing startups in the country.
Paul O'Donoghue will be charged with accelerating the business growth of Perkbox in the UK and internationally by developing the consumer element of the brand's customer white label offering, which enables large national brands and SMEs to access over 200 perks and benefits to help businesses acquire, engage and retain their customers and by establishing the platform as a best-in-market customer loyalty proposition.
Perkbox is already working with a number of major brands including British Gas, BUPA, AXA and Worldpay - delivering strong ROI for FTSE 100 businesses by driving engagement, customer acquisition and lowering customer attrition rate. The brand also works across multiple sectors including organisations within the hospitality, catering and retail sectors.
Saurav Chopra, CEO and co-founder of Perkbox commented: "With over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the digital industry, Paul brings with him a wealth of knowledge to the business. He has an impressive track record of providing strategic consultancy to large multi-nationals which has, in turn, helped major brands retain and grow their customer bases both locally and globally through relevant, creative and effective engagement programmes. Paul will be an asset to our senior team and will play an intrinsic role in the continued growth and success of Perkbox."
Paul O'Donoghue commented: "Technology has changed the way we behave as consumers. The growth of the smart phone and the adoption of apps and technology have optimised the management of our daily lives. In today's fast paced world, we seek instant gratification and redemption. Loyalty programmes are thus evolving to cater to these demands and the single reliance on point-based reward programmes are being challenged. This is where Perkbox has a distinct advantage; its malleable and adaptive technology can deliver digital solutions for customers that are desirable, relevant and instant. It is pioneering its proposition to become the definitive one-stop shop for customer engagement and loyalty."
Paul continued: "Having worked at leading digital businesses and global brands and having grown my own business to become the UK's 7th largest independent digital marketing agency, it feels exhilarating to be back working at the helm of an exciting startup such as Perkbox. There is great energy and enthusiasm inherent in the work culture; it's clear that the people who work here love the brand, believe in the product and will stop at nothing to make the company a success. Tech innovation is making customer engagement a very exciting space in which to work. I look forward to taking on fresh new challenges in this role and helping Perkbox become a best in market engagement and loyalty product for businesses worldwide."
Paul O'Donoghue started his career at News Corporation and has worked on both agency side (Auto Trader Group and Chime Communications) and client side with some of the world's most prestigious brands including Philips, DixonsCarphone, Jaguar Land Rover and Burberry. His agency, Green Cathedral Digital Marketing, was founded in 2001 and quickly became one of the UK's leading agencies before being sold to a top 20 UK advertising agency in 2007.
Perkbox is a cloud-based employee perks and engagement platform for business of all sizes, giving employers and employees a range of great perks, social reward and recognition tools and health and wellness platforms that help employers promote the financial, emotional and physical wellbeing of their team.
Perkbox was set up with the belief that the best companies to work for look after their teams and value their staff. The most successful businesses are comprised of people who are engaged, satisfied and loyal. Providing perks and engagement tools helps build stronger teams and incentivises workers to aspire to greatness.
Until recently, only large corporations could afford to pay for employee perks. Perkbox's easy and wholly customised offering allows SMEs to reward and incentivise their growing team with perks that help build a happy work culture with an investment in line with their budgets.
