Former Government Experts Join Senior Team at New Care Company HC-One

HC-One, the new operating company that will take on the running of a third of Southern Cross care homes from November, has today unveiled several senior appointments, including a former Department of Health adviser and Welsh Government care regulator.

Anne Williams CBE, former National Director for Learning Disabilities for England and the first ever President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) joins the new HC-One Executive Board as a Non-Executive Director. Having worked in social care for over 30 years, her previous career achievements include contributing to and leading the delivery of "Valuing People Now" and transforming social care services in Salford during her time as Director of Community and Social Services and Strategic Director of Community, Health and Social Care Services, leading it to become a top 3 star performing authority.

The Senior Management team will also be joined by former Southern Cross Regional Directors Pam Finnis and Michael MacIntosh, who will assume Managing Director roles in HC-One.

In addition, Liam Scanlon, former Regional Regulation Manager with the Welsh Government's Care and Social Services Inspectorate, has been appointed as the independent Chair of HC-One's new Safeguarding Board and its Quality Forum.  He has over 16 years senior management experience in the regulation of care homes and adults and children's social care in England and Wales.  Prior to being a regulator, Liam worked for 15 years in the NHS, culminating as a senior nurse in mental health.
