Star Alliance member TAP launches smartphone payments for its online booking systems in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria
Leading airline TAP Portugal today announced that they have successfully integrated Yapital, Europe's first cross-channel mobile payment solution, as a payment option on its homepages in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria.
TAP customers simply need to register for free on http://www.yapital.com to create their Yapital account. When booking a ticket from the TAP booking platforms http://www.flytap.com in Germany, Luxembourg or Austria, customers can now choose Yapital as a payment method. They then simply scan the QR code with the PIN-secured Yapital smartphone app and click on "confirm" - that's it. All ticket purchases are listed straight away in a transaction overview inside the Yapital app.
Carlos Paneiro, TAP's Vice President Commercial, comments: "The integration of Yapital onto our booking platforms went extremely quickly and we believe this partnership with Yapital illustrates TAP's commitment to provide multichannel and innovative responses to the changing evolution of consumers' lifestyles."
Neil Scoble, Head of International Sales at Yapital, comments: "We're happy to have made this step into the airline industry. By integrating Yapital's cross-channel mobile payment solution, TAP shows yet again that they are a leader when it comes to embracing new technologies and implementing services that are in line with consumer trends."
