First Coal Arrives at the Port of Beira but Infrastructure Remains Key

The world's last substantial untapped coal reserve is set to change forever as the first shipment of coal mined in Moatize arrives by train at the port of Beira this month which is destined for export to Brazil, India, Japan and the South African markets.

With infrastructure holding the key to a successful future the initial investment opportunity will be financing the infrastructure needed to get coal to market. Producers are underway to prepare for exports which will carry out between 50 000 and 60 000 tons of coal. By November the coal wharf at the port of Beira is due to be fully operational.
