The 2015 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards QBE FTSE 100 Business of the Year finalists have been announced as BT, Easyjet, Dixons Carphone Warehouse and Wolseley. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel, London on November 10th where world renowned astronaut and one of the most recognised figures in astronomy, Buzz Aldrin, will deliver a keynote speech.
This award aims to highlight the story behind the share price; looking at how Britain's best large businesses are delivering shareholder value while growing sustainably; creating jobs and expanding operations in the UK and / or overseas.
The QBE FTSE 100 Business of the Year Award recognises market leaders from a range of industries in the FTSE 100 that have demonstrated exceptional growth, resilience and / or commercial performance over the last 18 months. Ultimately, the winning organisation will be held up as an example of excellent practice and an inspiration to all businesses.
David Hall, Managing Director at QBE Business Insurance commented, 'QBE plays an integral part in underpinning the long-term success of our clients, supporting them as they address the varied challenges of their industries and enabling them to embrace the opportunities that are arising amid today's ever-changing marketplaces. We are delighted to once again support the QBE FTSE100 Business of the year category and congratulate the finalists on their shortlisting.'
An all encompassing range of industries are represented in the shortlists for this year's awards, with companies from recruitment and kids clothing all the way to pet food and online marketing being selected for the chance to win a National Business Award. The scale of the finalists is just as varied, whether the company is turning over under a million pounds or over £25 million, employing 20 people or over 70,000 people.
Tom Broughton, Programme Director of the National Business Awards said: "It's great to see some of Britain's biggest companies competing for this award, each demonstrating a range of qualities that have ensured their individual success. I'm looking forward to the awards night when one of these companies will join a list of previous winners including ITV and Sainsbury."
