Extricom Delivers High-Speed Wi-Fi to Indianapolis' Bankers Life Fieldhouse

For several years, according to the Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily Reader Survey, Bankers Life Fieldhouse was ranked the "No. 1 venue in the NBA". Bankers Life Fieldhouse is home to the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever and many other sporting events including college basketball, concerts, and ice hockey. As part of a technology upgrade the entire arena bowl was outfitted with Extricom's Wi-Fi proven technology, for large public venues with high densities of wireless clients supplied by Extricom's US partner, SignalShare, a leading provider of wireless Internet solutions for the sports and entertainment industries.

Bankers Life Fieldhouse required a comprehensive wireless LAN solution to cover an arena with seating capacity of 18,165 and additional suites and other luxury areas on site. Uniquely suited for large public venues (LPVs), Extricom's Channel BlanketTM architecture was selected, as it enables single channels to blanket entire sections of an arena's seating bowl, eliminating the need for difficult, if not impossible to deploy, microcell system designs.
