BRNO, Czech Republic, March 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Prague engineering company EXCON Steel, with a factory in Hradec Králové, is for sale in the tender, which is organized by auction company Prokonzulta. EXCON Steel has been producing special and heavy steel structures, equipment for the chemical and petrochemical industries as well as equipment for ecologic projects. Over the course of more than 140 years of existence, the company has collected extensive experience in all areas of its activities. The company produced for example steel ceiling dome for O2 Arena in Prague (biggest arena in CZ), construction of underwater mooring towers for wind turbines and high-pressure heaters for nuclear power plants and many other.
The history of the company dates back to 1869 when "První česká akciová strojírna" was founded. Over the years the production range was expanded by petrochemical, power industry and environmental equipment. In 2003 the company was completely acquired by EXCON, a.s. engineering company in Prague. Since then the company uses the name EXCON Steel, a.s. In July 2014 the company went into insolvency and in January 2015 was declared bankrupt.
"We accept offers of the candidates until 20 March 2015, when the tender will be closed. The only evaluation criterion is the bid price. The minimum price is not fixed, but each participant must deposit an amount of 10 mil. CZK (350.000 EUR). The enterprise value was determined by an expert to more than 195 mil. CZK. (6, 96 mil. EUR)" said Pavel Mikulenka, PR manager at Prokonzulta, organizer of the tender.
The company continues in operation despite the decision of bankruptcy. The company currently employs 160 employees. In case of early takeover of the plant it seems possible to re-establish business relationships with key customers from the time before insolvency.
