OSLO, Norway, May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
The number of guests at Sjoa Rafting Centre in Norway has increased by almost 300 percent in the past 2 years and all indicators point to an increase this year as well. This is not limited to locals, as many visitors from abroad have discovered rafting in Sjoa.
The season started a few weeks ago and Sjoa Rafting Center has already received more bookings than at the same time last year.
- All types of people and groups come to visit us, such as school classes, families, groups of teenagers, and companies on team-building trips, says Kristin Fjeld at Sjoa Rafting Center.
Norway´s oldest rafting company
Sjoa Rafting Center is Norway´s oldest rafting company, set up in 1984. The company takes full advantage of the surrounding nature, especially the numerous rivers. The river Sjoa is widely known as one of Europe´s best rivers for rafting.
- We have many different routes, with ranges of difficulty stretching from those suitable for complete beginners, to some very challenging ones for the advanced, explains Fjeld. - Anyone from children as young as five or six to 80-year-olds can participate. We also get a lot of people visiting from abroad and we are excited to see that rafting in Sjoa seems to have become well known outside of Europe as well.
Canyoning and river boarding
Aside from rafting, Sjoa Rafting Center offers a range of activities, fully utilising the surrounding nature with its rivers and mountains. Two of the more unusual ones are canyoning and river boarding.
- As an additional activity to rafting, many of our guests try fishing from Sjoa Rafting Center´s private fishing spot or go hiking, says Fjeld. - In the evenings, our guests often enjoy the outdoor barbeque or the view of the valley from our large terrace.
