The Connected Oilfield Solution

During the operation of oilfields, process data collected by production equipment sensors are initially transmitted through communications networks to the central control room and then transmitted back through an optical backbone network to the company's headquarters.

To enable seamless integration between an oil company's headquarters, oilfields and service management units, Huawei's Connected Oilfield solution features technologies such as self-developed IP, open transport network (OTN), wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), and multi-service transfer platform (MSTP) networks. By connecting all nodes in the oilfield production process, Huawei's Connected Oilfield Solution collects dynamic information from onsite operations, oil and gas transmissions, and system management to enable efficient decision-making.

Digital Oil and Gas Pipeline Solution

Oil and gas pipelines need to be monitored real-time for pipeline security, anti-corrosion activities, leak incident detection, preventive maintenance and risk management.

For comprehensive network coverage, Huawei's Digital Oil and Gas Pipeline Solution feature technologies uses optical fibers and microwave technology to provide communication services and satellites are used as backup links to enhance system reliability. In addition, advanced video and intelligent analysis technologies are used for production data transmission, video services, emergency command and dispatch, and pipeline security protection.

Huawei has successfully implemented the solution for a number of oil and gas projects including the China-Kazakhstan natural gas pipeline project.

Intelligent Refinery Solution

Huawei has designed an Intelligent Refinery Solution to digitize the operations of refineries. The solution uses LTE transmissions to create a multi-functional unified network, which supports services such as dispatch, video surveillance, meter-reading, and inspection. The solution enables remote technical support, quick location of faults and rectification, and the efficient collaboration of services.
