Emirates Hematology Society Conference Achieves International Recognition

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry, the 5th edition of the Emirates Hematology Society annual conference (EHC 2015), was officially inaugurated at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, by HE Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director General, Dubai Health Authority.
During his welcome address, HE Al Maidoor highlighted the importance of the continued efforts in providing the latest treatment methods that are in line with international standards, to ensure a continued development in the treatment of hematological disorders in the UAE and the region.
Dr. Asma Al Olama - President of the Emirates Hematology Society said: "EHC 2015 has received the accreditation of the European Hematology Association (EHA), besides featuring a synopsis of the latest research presented by world leading experts from the American Society of Hematology (ASH)."
"The society has also established the Emirates Hemophilia group, which lead to becoming an Associate member of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH)." she added.
Dr. Rania Medhat Seliem, chairperson of the scientific committee said: "Based on the great success in the past two years, we decided to expand our laboratory workshop to cover three specialized sessions that address the everyday diagnostic challenges in Coagulation, Leukemia, MDS and Lymphoma through an interactive format using case presentation by leading experts."
"The Hemostasis session will focus on the two very important subjects of hemophilia and the new oral anticoagulants. The three laboratory workshops will be presented by the well-known international speakers Dr. Jovan Antovic and
Dr. Sukesh Nair, as well as the world-renowned Dr. Marie Bene, who is an eminent member of the European leukemia Network." she added.
Commenting on the conference, Dr. Khawla Belhoul; member of organizing & scientific committee said: "We have on board an international advisory committee whose members are world leading experts in the field of hematology, thus ensuring that the scientific and educational content is of the highest caliber."
