Easynet and Acano Join Forces in New Unified Comms Partnership
LONDON, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Easynet Global Services and Acano today announce a new partnership which integrates Easynet's secure managed services with Acano coSpaces[TM], creating a perfect fit for global enterprises looking to boost collaboration with the latest evolution in unified communications.
Together, Easynet and Acano offer customers a unique collaboration experience across different platforms and devices. This comes with the added benefit of exciting new WebRTC integration, which enables voice, video and content sharing from the browser. Microsoft Lync users can connect with non-Lync users while preserving the Lync experience, including the ability to see who's available as well as sharing and receiving content.
Participants can join a conference from their own devices, including laptops, smartphones, iPads or from traditional conference rooms, minimising upfront investment and maximising usage, all while providing employees with the user experiences they prefer. People meet in coSpaces, virtual meeting rooms that are always available and fit into their workflow. The secure managed platform allows for connected working both within and beyond office locations, ideal for staff on the move, getting in touch from different sites, or collaborating with suppliers and customers.
Research forecasts that the unified communications market could grow from $22.8 billion in 2011 to $61.9 billion by 2018. This is likely to be driven largely by increasing device ownership and the willingness of companies to adopt mobility strategies, as well as the constant requirements of businesses to drive efficiencies and reduce costs. In the US alone, 70% of its workforce is expected to be mobile by 2015.
Philip Grannum, MD Cloud, Hosting & UC Services, Easynet said, "The critical success factor has to be usage, there's no point investing in a fantastic new platform if only the technical staff know how to use it. The Easynet and Acano partnership provides an inclusive, integrated and enjoyable customer experience, improving the user adoption and ultimately accelerating the customer's ROI."
Larry Satterfield, Vice President of Global Sales, said, "Easynet's new service based on the Acano platform will provide even large global organisations with easy collaboration. Employees can use Lync or Jabber, Apple or Android devices, laptops or traditional video systems. These new conferencing capabilities can be offered to existing Easynet customers, or be bundled with network services to a large customer base. We're excited with the opportunities ahead for our collaboration with Easynet."
